FACEBOOK HACK

To all our fans/Media friends please be advised that Peter Coad & the Coad Sisters band member Virginia Hermel's - Virginia Coad - Hermel Facebook page was hacked and she has lost all control over it.

Despite seeking help with Facebook Help Centre to sort it out, because the crooks removed all her security avenues and therefore all help by the Facebook Help Centre was gone.

cyber.gov.au said nothing can be done, but to keep reporting the page until her page is deleted, and she can start a new one.

Virginia was one of the admins for the Peter Coad & The Coad Sisters page, the Runaway Dixie, Coad Sisters (*LOST), Virginia Coad (LOST), and the Jim Hermel Band along with The Australian Bush Balladeers Association Inc. Facebook page.

Other admins have removed her control of those pages (not marked *lost) due to the hack of her page.

Ignore any post under her name on her Facebook page or Messenger as none of this is from Virginia (herself) any more.

If you wish to contact our band or any of these other Facebook pages for bands or the ABBA please do so DIRECTLY via websites associated with them.

PETER COAD OAM - KIDMAN'S MEN (V. Hermel/P. Coad)

From Peter’s first professional performance on the Bob Fricker Show at the Hawker Town Hall, South Australia, 1961, to music releases as Coad Bros in the 70’s and 80’s, Peter continues writing, recording, and performing songs about characters, people and places.

"My sister Virginia wrote 'Kidman's Men', and I added some music and a few words here and there. Coad Sisters did the backing.
My Great Uncle worked for Sir Sidney Kidman when Sir Sidney owned Wilpena Station in South Australia, and he of course met Sir Sidney Kidman personally and passed on stories of that early time to me.
Virginia's storyline from the view of a young stockman working as one of Kidman's men therefore resonated with me," Peter said.

MURRAY RIVER LULLABY - COAD SISTERS (V. Hermel)

Originally from northern South Australia, Coad Sisters (Virginia & Lynette) have released many albums over their full-time career in music.

From bush ballads, traditional country to contemporary styles their music includes much of their own writing.

The 'Murray River Lullaby', was written by Virginia.

"I have spent time on the Murray River over the years as my husband’s family has a shack near Morgan, South Australia..., in fact, the single’s cover photo of the river is one I took whilst at their shack,” Virginia said.
“The Murray River is one of Australia’s great tourist attractions and an integral part of lifestyle to those who live along her banks.”

COAD SISTERS - BIG BANDY
(V.Hermel)

Known locally as ‘Big Bandy', Bendieuta Creek is a massive gum creek that carries flood water from the Flinders Ranges in South Australia out to the plains and Lake Frome.
Coad Sisters grew up in this isolated area so know first hand how harsh the outback can be in drought and how welcome drought breaking rain is to the land and life upon it.
Rare are the 'inches' of rain that bring 'Big Bandy' down bank to bank.
Written by Virginia Hermel (of Coad Sisters) this vibrant toe tapping bush story was recorded by Coad Sisters and features the two sisters on vocals, harmonies and instrumentation.

1942 – PETER COAD OAM
(P. Coad/V. Hermel)

"G’day friends,

"This is a song I wrote in memory of the 1st of a series of raids, the Japanese made on Darwin 80 years ago.
There are still many historic reminders from war time Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Over the years, I have spoken to people who were soldiers stationed there at that time and as it is 80 years (in 2022) since the first attack we give thanks to those who stepped up and kept Australia safe in a time of great conflict.
I felt inspired to jot down the words and my sister Virginia put music to them and Coad Sisters did the backing for the song.
My thanks to everyone for your support of my music."

Peter

2 NEW SINGLES!!
'Long Way Round' & 'Big Red'.

Both singles - to radio
via CRS PUBLICITY Tuesday 22/2/2022

Both tracks available via Digital Download on our website. (see info/links below)

--------------

Peter Coad OAM - Long Way Round (P.Coad)

Written by Peter Coad, ‘Long Way Round’ is from a forthcoming album.
Peter says, “The idea came about when I travelled the ‘Long Way Round’ from Hawker down to Quorn in South Australia via a seldom used dirt road which takes you through station country west of the Flinders Ranges and the bitumen road, and would have been a main access for folks travelling north.
I passed the grave of pioneer Hugh Proby, and I drove through a onetime thriving farming community now just abandoned farm houses, and old machinery left to fade into time.
The rusty gates I opened along the road had seen both people and history come and go on the ‘Long Way Round’.”

--------------

COAD SISTERS - Big Red (V. Hermel)

Written by Virginia Hermel (of the COAD SISTERS) ‘Big Red’ is a song about one of Australia's racing legends, Phar Lap.
"We had a framed colour photo of Phar Lap on the wall at home." Virginia said. “I was inspired to write the song when I recently saw our photo of Phar Lap again, and realised 2022 was the 90 year anniversary of his death.
'Big Red' was one of the favourite nicknames by which Phar Lap was known, so that seemed a logical song title.
Little did I think as a child that so many years later that photo would lead to me writing a song about Phar Lap.”
'Big Red' is another single from a forthcoming album for COAD SISTERS.

'Land Of Acacia' - Coad Sisters
'Land Of Acacia' is the first single from a forthcoming album for Coad Sisters.
Fulltime in music for over 30 years the two sisters continue to present their unique blend of traditional style Country and Aussie story ballads from covers to originals on their albums.
Coad Sisters last album ‘The Journey’ featured many award wins and finalists with their original material.
'Land of Acacia' written by Virginia Coad of Coad Sisters, is a gentle ballad which showcases Coad Sisters vocal harmonies, and lyrically relates to the sisters’ home area of the Flinders Ranges, SA, in particular, the desert country in the far north of SA where they spent their childhood, 'In the Land of Acacia, (and wild Desert Rose').
